We have been flying through fall so fast we almost missed it. There have been so many new and exciting things happening here at ConEd Institute and we are not done yet! Between hosting our first free education and networking event, having so many new and interesting guests on our podcast, and running new online e-learning courses as well as in class courses, we have barely had time to think about 2019 but it is quickly approaching and we want to keep this momentum going.
Our Free Education Night “2 Massage Therapists and a Microphone Open Mic Night” on September 28 was incredible. We had GreenZone Therapy here talking about all things Cannabis, its medicinal uses, possible side effects, and fun facts. We were also joined- virtually- by Dr. Shar Rai who although in bed with the flu, educated our guests on the science of mindfulness. The food was good, the drinks were flowing, and we kept a night full of education pretty fun and entertaining. Thank you to the speakers and to all of the people who came out to join us from near and far!
If you haven’t had a chance to listen to our latest episodes of our podcast, 2 Massage Therapists and a Microphone, we have been doing all sorts of new things. This podcast began as a platform to discuss all things health, wellness, fitness, and healthcare business. We had no idea of all the turns it would take. Back in the summer we started the segment called “The Unprofessional Hour” which is light and entertaining and overall hilarious. This past month we have started a new segment called “Under the Sheets” which is getting to know the person behind the healing hands. We speak to therapists who have a story to tell. Very real. Very raw. Most recently we have had two mini series’- one discussing the legal and underground sex industry at erotic massage establishments, and one discussing different aspects of mental health. Listen. Subscribe.
Lastly, we recently started offering online courses in the form of e-learning modules. These are offered through a private Facebook group where you and other participants can interact with each other and the course facilitator. To date we have 2 online and more in the works! We also just ran our first Pelvic Health for Manual Therapists course here at ConEd Institute in Toronto. There are no words to describe how amazing this past weekend was. Our course instructors were amazing, the students were interested and engaged, and the energy in this room was just so positive. We cannot wait for this class to become a staple on our course calendar.
Look out for our 2019 course calendar which will be posted before the end of November. We hope that winter brings us as much excitement as the fall has. As usual we are very grateful to all of you who continue to allow us to be a part of your professional growth.
Be bold in your pursuit of education...
