Hey Spring…Let’s try this again…

My last update for you guys was in April as we were gearing up for a busy spring and summer…but then spring decided not to arrive here in Ontario. But we still continued to be busy bees at ConEd Institute and as always, we want to keep you all in the loop as to what we have going on here!

As mentioned previously, we are continuing to try to bring some of our more in demand courses to other parts of the province to be more accessible to you all. So, in May (on Mother’s Day weekend actually) we travelled to Windsor for Advanced Treatment Perspectives: Cupping as a Soft Tissue Tool. The course was very well received and Mark had a blast with all of the awesome therapists (and soon to be therapists) he got to work with in Windsor. He also spent a couple of extra days there working with grads from Canadian College of Health, Science, and Technology who are gearing up to come to Toronto for their OSCE exam. We want to wish you all good luck and hope to see some of you back at ConEd when we become COLLEAGUES!

We continue to be super busy with requests for clinic coaching and mentoring and one on one training. If this is something that you were thinking about taking advantage of this year, you may want to schedule it soon as we are filling up our schedule fast. Our Pelvic Health for Manual Therapists course ran for the third time in May and as usual it was a great success. This course often brings up the question “is this course for RMTs and does it fit within our scope of practice?’ The answer is YES! This course was designed with RMTs and ALL other manual therapists in mind. We brought in the experts for this- Pelvic Floor Physiotherapists. Obviously, there are treatments for the pelvic floor that do not fall within the scope of certain manual therapists BUT there is a lot that can be done within our scope of practice and that is what the aim of this course is. We want to educate all manual therapists about the pelvic floor, symptoms, assessments, treatments, and when to refer out. If you want to learn more about the pelvic floor to better cater to your clients needs, then this course IS for you.

What’s next you ask? With summer around the corner (we hope), here are our plans:

June 14 we will be hosting our next FREE EDUCATION and NETWORKING event at ConEd Institute. We have 2 awesome speakers lined up for this social event. Angelito Jr. Inocencio, RMT, C-PS, CES, FRCms will be discussing and demonstrating material from his Manual and Movement Therapy Integration Mentorship Program and Alison Stone, RMT will be discussing and demonstrating NKT - Neurokinetic Therapy. We still have space available for this event so go to our June Featured Courses Page to find it and RSVP for a fun night with lots of food, drinks, fun, and some free learning!

June and July also bring more travel. In June, this weekend actually, we will be teaching Assessments for RMTs and RKINs, and in July we will be bringing Cupping to Ottawa! Finally, a little (and much needed) break will come at the end of August. We will be closing up shop at ConEd for just the last two weeks of August for some well-deserved R and R for Mark, our super instructor, so he can come back fresher, louder, more outspoken and ready to teach in September!

Be bold in your pursuit of education...
