Ontario’s Premier, Doug Ford, announced today that Toronto was among the regions that would be allowed to enter phase 2 as of Wednesday June 24, 2020. What does this mean for ConEd Institute? We have closely examined the framework for phase 2 and are in the process of adapting our course calendar to reflect some of the changes we will need to implement. With that said, we are definitely gearing up to reopen.
What will your courses look like?
The maximum number of people in any social gathering must be no more than 10 people and those 10 people must follow physical distancing guidelines, meaning we must keep 2 meters between us at all times and when this is impossible, face coverings must be worn. For manual therapists this is becoming the norm as we all head back to our clinics to treat clients. We feel confident that we can adhere to these guidelines and still deliver quality courses with a more intimate setting. For the next few months, our courses will be capped at 8 participants. The tables will be arranged with ample distance between them and for our practical courses, each participant will remain with the same partner for the duration of the course, and proper PPE will be worn. We are very confident these new protocols will not be too difficult seeing as all of our participants are regulated healthcare professionals. The health and safety of our participants is top priority so we will be screening people prior to entering, keeping a record of every person on our premises, and regularly disinfecting all of the common spaces.
When will your course take place?
Our official back to work date is Monday July 6, 2020. Between now and then we will be scheduling courses that had previously been postponed due to COVID and giving top priority to those who are already registered before opening registration to any new participants. If you have been waiting for a new course date, look out for communication from us within the next two weeks with your new options. We are so very excited that this is finally happening and even more excited to get to see your *masked* faces in our classroom again soon. We have truly appreciated all of the support during these difficult times and the ongoing patience as we navigate these new waters.
