Description:

Knowledge of shoulder biomechanics and its applied anatomy is of utmost importance in shoulder rehabilitation. Poor shoulder rehabilitation often results in recurring shoulder injuries. The following workshop is centered around the concepts involved in active therapy for successful rehabilitation of common shoulder complex injuries including: impingement injuries, tendonitis, instabilities and dislocations, bursitis, and frozen shoulder.

 

Learn the concepts involved in active therapy for successful rehabilitation of common shoulder complex injuries. This course will also discuss recognition for potential injuries and the use of exercise and patient education as a preventative means.

Modules:

The Active Rehabilitation of Common Shoulder Complex Injuries

  • Rehabilitative concepts in the various stages of healing

  • Use of ROM and various stretching modalities

  • Discuss the concepts of muscular strength, muscular power, and muscular endurance

  • Therapeutic exercises isolating various muscles

  • Therapeutic exercises of muscle groups to enhance motor skills and functional movements of activities of daily living

  • Program design and implementation for the following conditions / injuries:

    • Strains

    • Tendonitis

    • Contusions

    • Bursitis

    • Frozen shoulder

    • Instabilities

    • Dislocations

    • Sprains

    • Arthritis

    • Fractures
